Important: The OVAL Compatibility Program was moved to "archive" status in December 2009, and replaced with the "OVAL Adoption Program." Under the OVAL Adoption Program product validation is performed by an external organization, allowing the OVAL Team to focus on educating vendors on best practices regarding the use and implementation OVAL and on how OVAL can continue to evolve as needed by the community.

Approach for Correction of Errors
Any error that is discovered should be reported to the SCAP project team via email at checklists@nist.gov
Once an error has been reported, it will be examined by our internal content team and any applicable fix will be made. Fixes will be released in future versions of the content.

Finding Elements Using OVAL
Although no formal search capability is provided, all available OVAL content is available in XML format so standard document search can be used to find specific OVAL Definitions.
